Cake 11
Cake 11. Vanilla Bundt Cake
This weeks mid week cake was definitely a cake to take the grumps away. When you feel like it's Friday on a Tuesday the only solution is cake. We made a vanilla bundt cake with maple frosting. It was VG! Every time I look at it my mouth waters for more. No matter how big of a slice you get, it disappears in seconds! It's a good classic cake! I was a little hesitant that it didn't have butter in it, but I approve! The frosting is the same one we made with the pumpkin cake and we were licking it off the plate so we knew we needed it again. The combo of the cake and frosting did not disappoint.
Frosting from Half Baked Harvest
Brown Butter Maple Glaze
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup

To make the glaze. Melt the butter over medium heat in a small sauce pot until just browned. The butter will melt, foam and froth, then begin to brown along the bottom. Whisk browned bits off of the bottom of the pan. Once the butter has browned, quickly remove from the heat. Stir in the powdered sugar, maple and vanilla until smooth. If needed, thin the glaze with a splash of water.- Drizzle the glaze evenly over the cake and let set 10 minutes.
